Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration Serhii Boiev discussed plans for security assistance in 2025 and cooperation within joint projects with the American side.

Ahead of the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Support for Ukraine, which will take place in Germany, an American delegation arrived in Kyiv, headed by Winfield Swanton, Director for Ukraine at the U.S. National Security Council.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the discussion of the results of U.S. assistance to Ukraine during 2024 and planning the interaction between the defense ministries' teams in 2025.

Among Ukraine's priority goals for 2025 remain strengthening the Defense Forces along the front line, improving the combat capability of units, enhancing the protection of Ukrainian skies, and developing the defense-industrial complex. To achieve these, it is important to understand the scope of assistance from partners.

The parties discussed the status of previously announced U.S. investments in Ukrainian UAV production and the development of other joint projects in the defense industry. Particular attention was paid to further U.S. assistance regarding specific types of weapons and ammunition. Positions were synchronized regarding Ukraine's needs and American capabilities.

Winfield Swanton emphasized the importance of cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and the U.S. and the development of joint production projects, primarily focused on strengthening Ukraine's capabilities.
