On the night of January 5 (from 18:00 on January 4), Russian forces launched an attack using 9 Iskander-M ballistic missiles / S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from Bryansk and Voronezh regions, as well as 165 attack UAVs, including Shahed and Gerbera types and drones of other models, launched from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, and Oryol (Russian Federation). About 100 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 137 UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones, in the northern, central, and eastern regions of the country.
Impacts of ballistic / surface-to-air guided missiles and 26 attack UAVs were recorded at 10 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at 9 locations.
