Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska opened an exhibition of Alexandra Exter at the Ukrainian Museum in New York. This was announced on September 24 by the museum's administration on Instagram.

The President and First Lady toured the exhibition dedicated to the work of Ukrainian avant-garde artist Alexandra Exter, led by the director of the Ukrainian Museum, Petro Doroshenko. The exhibition 'Alexandra Exter: The Stage Is a World' will run at the Ukrainian Museum from September 27 to January 19, 2025.
This is the first solo exhibition of Exter's works in North America, featuring about sixty-six pieces, including her early abstractions and avant-garde theatrical designs.
The exhibition will highlight extensive research on the artist's groundbreaking work from 1913 to 1934.
The Ukrainian Museum was founded in 1976 by the Ukrainian Women’s Union of America in New York, based on a collection of folk art purchased from the 'Ukrainian Folk Art' cooperative in Lviv back in 1933. The museum building was designed by Ukrainian-American architect George Savitsky and financed by the Ukrainian-American community.
The museum is located at 222 East 6th Street between Second Avenue and Cooper Square in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan.
The President also participated in a meeting and discussion with the Ukrainian community in New York, moderated by the Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova.
