Vladimir Putin is not willing to end the war against Ukraine with an "honorable draw".

As noted by political analyst and publicist Andrey Piontkovsky, the Russian President is confident that such a scenario would result in him losing power.

"Recently, scandalous materials were published by the so-called Second Track group, which, led by the well-known Russian influence agent Tom Graham, attempted to negotiate with Putin informally about ending the war in Ukraine. They offered the dictator an "honorable draw", which implied that the majority of the occupied territories would remain part of the aggressor country, and Russia would cease fire. It turned out that Vladimir Putin is not willing to accept the "honorable draw," although that is exactly what his inner circle is thinking. He realized that it would lead to him losing power," he wrote.

Piontkovsky believes that due to internal problems, Putin will not go to Turkey to meet with Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan:

"He will be ashamed to send his double to meet with Erdogan, and he himself will not go to Turkey – it can be seen from his behavior regarding security. Besides, he has a lot of internal problems right now, including his relations with the elite."
