Ukraine has officially asked Poland for a €120 million loan to acquire products from Poland’s defense industry, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said in an interview with Ukrinform.

Sybiha emphasized the high battlefield effectiveness of Polish-made weapons, such as the Piorun MANPADS and Krab self-propelled howitzers, which Ukraine is prepared to purchase.

“This was one of the topics discussed with Minister Radosław Sikorski — the possibility of obtaining a loan. With this credit, we are ready to buy defense products from Poland. The country has strong traditions in defense manufacturing, and we’re open to purchasing its systems,” Sybiha noted.

He confirmed the proposed loan amount stands at €120 million.

During his recent meeting with Sikorski, Sybiha also discussed upcoming military aid packages from Poland. He stressed that Ukraine continuously communicates its most urgent battlefield needs to its partners.

“The enemy learns about these decisions on the battlefield — through the effectiveness of our soldiers,” he added.

Sybiha also said Kyiv is engaged in dialogue with Warsaw on co-producing defense equipment, both in Ukraine and in Poland.

“This is our shared interest, it is mutually beneficial, and it is a contribution to our common future,” Ukraine’s top diplomat concluded.
