The National Police of Ukraine has documented the death of nearly 9,700 civilians in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale invasion by Russia.

This information is reported by the Head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Maxim Tsutskiridze, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to Tsutskiridze, it is currently known that almost 7,000 civilians have gone missing without a trace, and the losses from the destruction of housing and property of Ukrainians have exceeded 40 billion hryvnias.

"The police have directly documented the death of 9,700 Ukrainians, another 11,000 have been injured, and almost 7,000 have gone missing without a trace. These are all civilians," stated the head of the GID of the National Police.

Among the affected are 18,000 children, with 522 reported dead. Investigations have been initiated regarding 14,000 Ukrainian children whom the enemy deported to Russia and Belarus.

At the same time, he noted that the mentioned figures relate only to territories that are not occupied by Russian terrorists.

"I am even afraid to imagine what is happening in the occupation. We do not know the whole truth; in the future, we will have to collect evidence and testimonies bit by bit. The enemy simply leveled buildings with the ground in Mariupol, and it is unknown whether people remained there. Ukrainians were dying not only from shells but also from smoke, suffocation," explained Tsutskiridze.
