On the night of February 1, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region with 'Shaheds' and artillery. As a result of the shelling, a hospital and civilian objects were damaged.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, during the past day, Russians carried out five attacks on the city and the region. In particular, the invaders struck a hospital in Velykyi Burluk with two guided aviation bombs.
"38 people were evacuated, including 5 employees of the central hospital. The staff and patients of the hospital managed to respond to the air raid warning signal," notes Synegubov.
Moreover, in the town of Novoosynove in Kupyansk district, the occupiers launched artillery strikes, resulting in a utility building catching fire.
About 20 settlements in the Kharkiv region experienced enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including:
- Okip in Bohodukhiv district,
- Lukianivka in Kharkiv district,
- Vovchansk in Chuhuiv district,
- Synkivka,
- Ivanivka,
- Kyslivka,
- Kotliarivka,
- Pishchane in Kupyansk district, and others.
Also, around midnight, the Russian forces launched four 'Shahed' UAVs at Kharkiv.
"Two UAV hits on the territory of a civilian industrial facility in Osnovianskyi district were recorded. There are no casualties. Two enemy UAVs were downed by air defense forces," the statement says.
As noted by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the violation of laws and customs of war.
In particular, three UAV strikes on the territory of Osnovianskyi district have been documented. "Buildings and premises of a civilian enterprise were damaged, and a fire occurred. No casualties," the statement says.
Rescuers were extinguishing a fire caused by enemy shelling in the residential sector of the town of Novoosinove in Kupyansk district.
"One of the shells hit an outbuilding on the territory of a private house. A fire occurred covering an area of 50 square meters," the State Emergency Service reports.
