Baltic region countries actively engage Ukraine and leverage its experience to strengthen resilience to Russian actions and influence. Warsaw prepares new military aid packages for Ukraine.
This was announced by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during a joint press conference of the Lublin Triangle foreign ministers (Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania) on Wednesday, July 16, in Lublin.
"Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has directly impacted the Baltic region. Deepening cooperation with Ukraine is one of the key elements of our strategy to build resilience in this region. The Council of the Baltic Sea States, currently chaired by Poland, is doing everything possible to enhance resilience in the region’s countries and societies," Sikorski said.
He noted that Poland has already provided Ukraine with 45 packages of various weapons and equipment.
"Work is underway on the next aid packages," he emphasized.
According to Sikorski, Poland has already delivered €4 billion in military aid to Ukraine, not including coordinated aid from other countries or humanitarian assistance.
He also stated that the three ministers agreed to hold a meeting of StratCom groups—experts on countering Russian disinformation—later this year, as well as the next meeting of Lublin Triangle foreign ministers in Vilnius. Sikorski expressed hope that by then a joint action program for the three countries will be developed.
