During the defense of Vovchansk, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold a position on the northern bank of the Vovcha River, specifically on the territory of the aggregate plant.
This was reported by Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group, during a TV broadcast.
“When it comes to the fighting inside the city, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are maintaining their position on the northern bank of the Vovcha River, including the area of the aggregate plant. The Russians are making every effort to push our units back beyond the natural barrier of the river, but they have not succeeded,” Shamshyn stated.
He added that Russian forces continue shelling Vovchansk with various types of artillery, and the situation in and around the city remains tense. “The enemy is launching assault operations daily. The occupiers typically attack in small infantry groups — from 3 to 5, sometimes up to 10 troops — under the cover of drones,” he said.
When asked whether Ukrainian forces are using netting on roads near the front line to counter drones, Shamshyn noted that no army in the world can function without effective logistics.
“We are doing everything we can to protect our supply routes from enemy drones. In today’s drone-dominated battlefield, where roads are monitored 24/7, this is one of the most critical tasks,” he emphasized.
