President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Belgium will deliver three F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of the year.
The head of state announced this.
“There is an important agreement with Belgium to transfer three F-16 fighter jets to us by the end of this year. We will proceed with receiving these aircraft under an accelerated procedure,” Zelensky said.
He also said that Ukraine has already received urgent deliveries of ammunition for F-16s from Belgium and other countries, including Spain.
“As Russia escalates its attacks every day, we need to increase our capabilities to shoot down aerial targets and protect people,” the President said, thanking Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever and the Belgian government for taking decisive steps to support Ukraine in response to brutal Russian attacks on civilians.
