The British Home Office is working on plans to designate the Wagner PMC as a terrorist organization, The Telegraph reports.
According to the media, the corresponding decision by the British authorities will put the Wagner PMC on a par with groups such as ISIS and al-Qaeda, which, in turn, will affect the ability of the PMC to raise money if any assets or income streams are pass through UK financial institutions.
In addition, if the British authorities recognize PMC Wagner as a terrorist organization, in the UK it will be a criminal offense not only to belong to this structure or attend its events, but also any support for PMCs and even public display of the logo.
At the moment, the newspaper writes, the issue is at an early stage of discussion, but, according to sources, the final decision can be made fairly quickly. It is expected that on February 6, a discussion of the activities of PMCs will take place in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of the British Parliament.
The Telegraph believes that the UK authorities will only comment on the situation once a final decision is made.
