British intelligence noted that Moscow and St. Petersburg remain relatively unscathed in terms of Russian losses in the war against Ukraine, in the future, the isolation of the most wealthy from the war will remain the main issue.
This is stated in the British Ministry of Defense intelligence review.
As noted, Russia continues to suffer extremely heavy losses in the war, but the consequences of this vary dramatically in different regions of the country.
"The richest cities - Moscow and St. Petersburg - have been left relatively unscathed, in proportion to the size of their population. This is especially true for the families of the country's elite," the review says.
