The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that Russia is increasing pressure and intensifying measures to simulate the so-called "Putin's elections" in the occupied territories.
To create a fake picture of support for Putin, Russian forces have deployed specially trained units to the captive territories, which will oversee falsifications and monitor the work of the so-called "election commissions."
One of the tasks of these units is to report by March 10, 2024, on the readiness for "voting" by employees of enterprises in the occupied territories and to provide a forecast of support for Putin.
Additionally, the Kremlin has approved a new "procedure" for conducting "voting" in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
The latest Moscow manual provides that participation in illegal "elections" in captive territories is possible with either a Russian or Ukrainian passport, ID card, or any other document confirming identity.
This decision confirms the failure of forced passportization in the occupied territories of Ukraine and serves as another tool for Russian special services to identify "unreliable" Ukrainians for repression.
Following Moscow's orders, occupation administrations and propagandists actively spread fakes about supposed "85% support" for Putin in the occupied territories of Ukraine, and also promote the so-called "mobile voter" system, which, among other things, allows for "voting" online and "without registration" in the captured territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
