Specialists from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) have demonstrated foreign-made components found in Russian weapons used against Ukraine to representatives of the US Senate.

This was reported by Ukraine's Defence Intelligence.

As part of a sanctions briefing for a delegation from the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, a presentation was held on the mechanisms Russia uses to finance its war against Ukraine and circumvent international sanctions.

The event was organised by Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Adviser and Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, and the Sanctions Hub of Excellence at the Kyiv School of Economics.

DIU representatives presented their American counterparts with detailed information on the Russian military-industrial complex's dependence on imported electronic components, chemicals and machine tools.

Experts from Ukraine's Military Intelligence Research Institute demonstrated specific examples of foreign-made components discovered in Russian weapons used against Ukraine.

The samples included components manufactured by companies from China, Switzerland, Taiwan, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Participants in the briefing were able to examine the components firsthand and learn more about how Russia's military-industrial complex uses foreign technologies to manufacture weapons.

"Only the enforcement and strengthening of sanctions policy can weaken Russia's ability to manufacture weapons for killing and terror. Stopping the supply of foreign components, industrial equipment and specialised chemicals to Russia means limiting its capacity to produce precision-guided weapons and its ability to continue its genocidal war against the Ukrainian people," a DIU representative emphasised.

Ukraine's Defence Intelligence publishes information on foreign components identified in Russian military equipment and weapons on the War&Sanctions portal, in the "Components in Weapons" section.
