Denmark will increase its military aid budget to Ukraine by 3 billion euros by 2027.

This information is stated in the announcement from the Danish Ministry of Defense.

The government and parliamentary majority of Denmark have approved additional funding for the fund that supports Ukraine. The fund has increased by 2.3 billion Danish crowns (308 million euros) in 2023 and by 23.5 billion crowns (3.15 billion euros) for the years 2025-2027.

The total amount of the military aid fund for Ukraine will increase by 2.3 billion Danish crowns in 2023, by 10.5 billion in 2025, 7.4 billion in 2026, and 5.6 billion in 2027.

"We don't know how long the war in Ukraine will last, but we know that contributions are crucial for Ukraine to continue the fight against Russia. Throughout the entire war, Denmark has been a steadfast supporter of Ukraine, and as we strengthen our support now, both in 2023 and notably allocating significant funds in 2025-2027, we send a clear signal that Ukrainians can count on Denmark's support in the long term," said Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen.

The additional funding will also ensure that Denmark reaches the minimum 2% of GDP spending on defense agreed upon by NATO member states.

"In Europe, there is a war, and therefore, we, the Danish Democrats, are pleased to be part of an agreement that guarantees Denmark and our allies will send a clear signal to Russia that we continue to provide military support for the struggle for Ukraine's freedom," says Lise Bech, spokesperson for defense issues for the Danish Democrats.
