The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian IT company Compass Engineering are implementing an innovative mobile monitoring system for the state border. With the help of this system, border guards conduct surveillance both during the day and at night, including monitoring of airspace.

Representatives of the company proposed and implemented a system of intelligent surveillance based on mobile complexes. The first 10 mobile thermal imaging complexes serve as the "base" on which a comprehensive solution was deployed, allowing for the rapid deployment of monitoring points.

The vehicles are equipped with mobile mast systems, a multispectral camera with precise positioning module on-site, and the ability to transmit coordinates of detected objects to higher-level systems. The development has already demonstrated its effectiveness, as reported by the State Border Guard Service.

The system is fully autonomous, mobile, capable of integration with other systems, and can detect people and equipment. Thanks to modern optics, a clear high-resolution image is provided, while the thermal imaging camera allows for visibility in various weather conditions and diverse terrain. Additionally, the solution can be enhanced with artificial intelligence and neural network technologies.

"Previously, such systems were typically developed on a stationary basis to detect violators attempting to illegally cross the state border. During wartime, the State Border Guard Service requires systems that can be rapidly deployed in any terrain, have full autonomy, and remote control capability for the safety of our soldiers and the effective execution of tasks to protect the state border," noted Mykola Lushchik, Head of the Communication and Information Systems Department at the State Border Guard Service Administration.

"Previous solutions could be costly and bulky, so our developers were guided by principles of maximum mobility and safety for the fighters, enabling border guards to perform their tasks according to the 'arrive, deploy, execute, fold, relocate' algorithm," added Vitaliy Rozdobudko, Director of Compass Engineering.
