Estonian Ministry of Defense: Second mobilization in Russia will be worse than the first

If the second wave of mobilization begins in Russia, the fighting qualities of recruits will be even worse than in the first wave. This opinion was expressed by the speaker of the Estonian Ministry of Defense Taavi Laasik in a commentary to ERR.

According to him, the Estonian authorities do not have data on the possible start of the second wave of mobilization in Russia, but admit such a possibility.

“Of course, a lot depends on where the potential mobilized will be gathered and what they will do. If the mobilized go through a month or two of training, and then they are not transferred anywhere, then in general, this will not affect us,” Laasik explained.

"They can organize a second wave of mobilization, but it can be assumed that its quality will be even worse than the first. At the same time, it is important not to forget that covert mobilization in Russia did not stop. There were statements that the goals of mobilization were achieved, but the corresponding activity continued," the speaker stressed.
