The Ukrainian general explained if Russia could prepare for a second wave of offensive and when

The Ukrainian Institute for the Future reported that Russia could launch a second offensive in the first half of March or May-June. It was noted that the strike force had already been created, and the most likely direction was through the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions along the Dnieper.

General of the Army, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine in 2005-2010, Mykola Malomuzh, in an interview with TSN.ua, said that Russia is now really preparing another reserve of newly mobilized.

"At the moment, they have a new strategy - to prepare large reserves, to prepare more efficiently, for 3-4 months, to accumulate equipment, weapons, ammunition, aviation to strengthen firing positions, the massive use of equipment, artillery and newly mobilized. And therefore, indeed , this second wave (repeated offensive) may be until April, May, June. Because, depending on the unit, there are different terms of preparation and direction to the front," he explained.

According to him, today the enemy does not have enough units to attack Bakhmut, Avdeevka, Vuhledar, Svatovo, and Kremenna. They are forced, without sufficient training, to abandon the mobilized reserves. But most are cooked.

"We assume the second offensive, if there are no active advances in the Donbas, they will, first of all, send forces to the Donbas and the Zaporizhzhia region. They strategically need to close our possible counter-offensive corridor in the south - and these are the Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, regions and to Crimea. The second direction – to complete the tasks of capturing the Donetsk and Lugansk regions," Malomuzh said.

The army general also warned of possible enemy provocations in the directions of the Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv. However, he noted that all military movements across Russia are controlled online.

"We have a powerful security system on the borders of the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. On the other hand, there are action algorithms - how to transfer powerful reserves during the day, if necessary effectively. Not only for defense measures but also for counterattacks," he explained .

Malomuzh also noted that Ukraine continues to receive Western weapons, including tanks, artillery mounts, cannons, missile systems, and self-propelled guns.
