French actor Gerard Depardieu, who has Russian citizenship, once again distinguished himself with a scandalous statement. He called the war "nonsense" and "the madness of the people."

According to Depardieu, he does not undertake to judge wars and invasions. However, speaking about the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, he said that this did not affect his love for the aggressor country.

"Nothing has changed for me. I'm still Russian. I love Russian culture. When I love a country, it's always because of its culture. But I prefer to avoid talking about this topic. No one can say anything sensible about it. No one!" the scandalous actor told the German publication Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.

Depardieu also commented on his statement, which he made in March. Then the actor condemned the war and called it "fratricidal", but he did not call Putin an aggressor and did not admit that the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Now the scandalous fan of Russia has completely disowned his words.

"I hate it when politics and acting are mixed. I don't want to talk about this more than: War is big nonsense," Depardieu said.
