During his visit to Germany, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, signed a memorandum of understanding with Diehl Defence, the manufacturer of the IRIS-T air defense system.
The agreement paves the way for joint industrial projects aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. It also provides for a threefold increase in the supply of missiles and air defense systems.
“I thank Diehl Defence for their trust and willingness to cooperate. It is crucial that leading global defense companies are stepping forward to support Ukraine. The free world is on our side, and together we are unlocking new opportunities to strengthen our defense,” Umerov emphasized.
Protecting Ukraine’s airspace and civilian areas remains a top priority for the Ministry of Defense. IRIS-T systems have already proven their effectiveness as a key component of Ukraine’s air defense shield.
