In January 2025, Ukraine's Defense Forces downed 2,219 drones of various types and 45 missiles used by Russia to attack Ukrainian territory.
This was reported on Telegram by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The air defense system shot down, among others:
- 31 cruise missile (X-101, Kalibr, Iskander-K);
- 2 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M);
- 12 guided air-to-ground missiles (X-59/69);
- 1,595 Shahed-type strike drones;
- 388 reconnaissance drones;
- 236 drones of other types.
In January, the tactical aviation of the Air Force carried out over 220 aircraft sorties for aerial reconnaissance, fighter escort, fire strikes, and air support for ground units. Of these, 77 were for fire strikes, and 79 were for fighter escort.
In January 2025, aviation also destroyed 215 air targets, hit command posts, UAV control points, and areas concentrated with military equipment and personnel.
