Border guards of Lithuania conduct questionnaires of Belarusians at the entrance to the country. Some citizens are denied entry based on their answers. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, Arnoldas AbramaviÄius, LRT radio reports.
Abramovićius said that at the border, citizens of Belarus are asked about the purpose of entering Lithuania, as well as about the attitude towards the Russian Federation and the status of the Crimean peninsula. From a person's answers, you can understand his position regarding the temporary occupation of Crimea and see his attempts to hide something. According to the minister, there are cases when Belarusian citizens are not allowed to enter Lithuania based on their answers.
Also, in his opinion, such a survey is currently a sufficient measure for checking the citizens of Belarus, so there is no need to introduce others.
"Most of the measures have already been taken - a stricter check upon arrival in Lithuania has been introduced, as well as a reduction in the number of temporary residence permits, mandatory additional questionnaires when issuing these documents, which assess the potential threat to national security. All measures are effective," said Arnoldas AbramaviÄius.
According to him, you should not treat all Belarusians equally, you need to evaluate each case separately.
