In Transcarpathia, Nobel laureate Ferenc Krausz will establish an educational center for gifted children.
According to the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, Krausz, a Nobel laureate in Physics and a native of Hungary, plans to launch this project in Transcarpathia.
Biletsky added that Krausz has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Together with the head of the Bativska territorial community, Dmytro Taranenko, they discussed the creation of a children's and youth development center. The center will train gifted Ukrainian and Hungarian children for international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, and computer science, and later in chemistry and biology. The facility will also feature a sports complex, park, playground, and dormitory, with the long-term goal of developing it into a full-fledged children's town.
“This is a very progressive initiative, which will allow us to nurture young geniuses here in Transcarpathia. Ahead, there are legal and technical matters to address, finding designers, and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation to successfully implement this plan,” Biletsky added.
For his part, Ferenc Krausz assured that his initiative has the support of the Hungarian government and the Nobel Foundation.
