Since the beginning of 2024, nearly 1,500 Ukrainian border guards have undergone training in the United Kingdom.

The training is part of the multinational Interflex mission, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Ukrainian border guards train at facilities within the British Armed Forces' educational and material base.

The course lasts five weeks and is conducted by instructors from various partner countries.

The State Border Guard Service noted that the program is designed for soldiers with little or no prior military experience.

The soldiers acquire basic skills necessary for survival and effective behavior on the battlefield. They are trained in how to act in crisis situations and provide medical assistance.

At the beginning of the training program, foreign instructors teach Ukrainian fighters the rules for handling weapons and explosives. They receive basic knowledge in tactics, camouflage, topography, survival, and first aid.

Later, the soldiers participate in practical exercises, and by the end of the training course, they gain experience in shooting various types of weapons under different conditions.

Additionally, the recruits are trained in combat tactics, both in trenches and urban environments. They also receive specialized training in mine clearance and handling explosive devices.

Along with the crucial knowledge gained during the training, each Ukrainian servicemember receives a full set of equipment from the United Kingdom upon completion.

The kit includes a uniform, individual protective gear, personal equipment, and additional gear suitable for both hot and cold weather conditions.
