This information was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"Currently, the combined unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is carrying out recovery work in the area of the village of Rečica. Rescuers have set up a mobile command post, a medical point, and have also organized communication and determined the procedure for involving personnel and equipment to eliminate the consequences of the flood. A working meeting was held with a representative of RDC — the body responsible for the European Civil Protection Mechanism, which coordinates the work of rescue services from all participating countries and local authorities," the statement says.

It is noted that two main locations have been identified for the work of Ukrainian rescuers in the course of the Drava River. The main tasks include constructing a dam for bank reinforcement, widening and changing the course of the river, drainage, and clearing the riverbed of trees and debris brought by the flood. The work is extremely challenging as rescuers have to constantly work in swift currents.

For its execution, State Emergency Service of Ukraine experts have and are using heavy engineering equipment, including 5 tracked excavators. The work is planned to be carried out over several days, after which new locations will be determined.
