On February 23, 2025, on the eve of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, a rally in support of Ukraine was held in the heart of Istanbul, at Şişhane Square.
The event was attended by relatives of missing persons, prisoners of war, and unlawfully convicted Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul.
"We see how our joint efforts have become a symbol of hope and strength. Every voice of support inspires the fight for peace and justice. Today's rally is clear proof that Ukraine is never alone in its struggle," said Roman Nedilskyi, Ukraine's Consul General in Istanbul, during his speech. He emphasized that the unity of the people is the strongest weapon in this difficult time.
After the rally, participants solemnly unfurled the Ukrainian flag as a symbol of unity and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
The event was attended by relatives of the missing, prisoners of war, and unlawfully convicted members of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, representatives of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar communities, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Ukrainian diplomats, and friends of Ukraine from Turkey and other countries.
