In the Odessa region, a Russian agent was detained, who was preparing a missile attack on energy facilities and the port of the city of Izmail.

The detainee collected data on the location of energy infrastructure facilities in the city of Izmail, personnel, and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fortifications, and roadblocks. This was reported by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"Fulfilling the tasks of the enemy … he also personally observed the dynamics of ship calls to the local port and the types of cargo they moved," the report says.

It is noted that the material with the coordinates of energy facilities and the basing of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the help of a messenger was transferred by the agent to the representative of the military intelligence of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the man was aware that this information could be used by the aggressor state to shell Izmail and the Izmail region.

According to the SSU in the Odessa region, the suspect is an official of one of the enterprises of the Izmail port, after the start of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the man was recruited by a representative of the Russian special services.

The traitor was primarily interested in the locations of electrical substations and other urban energy facilities, he transmitted to the enemy information about the specifics of protection and the features of the local river port, and the like.

"The Russian invaders needed intelligence information to prepare a series of targeted missile strikes against Ukrainian targets. However, the SSU officers worked ahead of the curve - they exposed the attacker in a timely manner, documented his criminal actions in stages, and detained him while trying to transfer classified data to the aggressor," the report says.

During the search, the detainee was found to have a mobile phone with evidence of secret correspondence with the enemy.
