Ambassador: France will invest in the production of weapons on the territory of Ukraine

"France has increased its defense spending. Part of these funds will be invested in the production of weapons on the territory of Ukraine," said Gael Veyssiere, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Ukraine, during his speech at the Kyiv Security Forum.

According to him, France's defense spending has now exceeded 2% of GDP. He also believes that investments are needed to produce in Ukraine what is necessary for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"We are saying: if we can start such production in Ukraine, we should do it," Veyssiere said.

He also called on partners to support Ukraine in achieving victory.

"Let's imagine for a moment if Russia wins. It means that Russia can destroy its neighbor, and the international community can do nothing in response. It means that many countries will say: now we need to join the nuclear club because our security is threatened. This will be a more risky and unstable situation than today," he said.
