An extended curfew will be imposed in Odessa and the entire Odessa region on May 9. This was announced today in the regional military administration.
âBy order of the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Maxim Marchenko, a curfew was imposed in the territory of the city of Odessa and the Odessa region from 19:00 on May 8, 2022 to 05:00 on May 10, 2022,â the message says.
During the curfew, it is forbidden for people to stay on the streets and other public places during the specified period without specially issued passes and certificates.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that in Ukraine, they expect provocations or intensification of shelling by the Russian troops in connection with the celebration of May 9 in Russia.
âWe understand that there is not much time left before this date, which forces us to be more vigilant in all directions, where there is not only fighting but also relative calm. We fully expect some kind of provocation or intensification of shelling by the Russian army,â said the speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk.
According to him, Russia aims to achieve certain results by May 9.
âThe Russian Federation, even if it does not achieve its strategic goals, and it has not achieved them as of today, it can come up with these victories and show them on television. This is not a problem for them,â the speaker noted.
