The Berlin authorities have canceled an exhibition of Russian military equipment used in the war against Ukraine. This was announced by the former ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Andrii Melnyk, on Twitter on Thursday, August 4.
The diplomat demands approval of an exhibition of military equipment in Berlin, which was agreed with two museum heads, but instead rejected by the Berlin authorities. Melnyk turns to Franziska Giffey, the managing burgomaster of Berlin.
"Destroyed military equipment of Russia, which will be exhibited in the very center of Berlin, should allow people in Germany to experience the brutal war of destruction with their own eyes. Therefore, Ukrainians are shocked that the Mitte district administration rejected this application with an utterly far-fetched rationale. This cancellation - a real scandal!
I appeal to the mayor and district administration of Mitte to reverse this strange decision and allow a tank exhibition in Berlin. This will mean true solidarity with Ukraine," Melnyk stressed.
