He noted that Poland condemns the Kremlin's attempts to annex Ukrainian territory and will never recognize them.
The Kremlin's claims to "annex" the illegally annexed Ukrainian territories spell defeat for those who naively believed in a compromise with the Russian authorities.
Polish President Andrzej Duda wrote about this on Twitter.
"Poland condemns RUS attempts to annex UA territory and will never recognize them. We will continue supporting UA Defenders until the aggressor is driven out. Today's desperate action by the Kremlin is a defeat for those who naively believed in a compromise with Russia," Duda said.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Poland, in its statement, "strongly condemned the illegal acts of "recognition of independence" and "incorporation" of the occupied regions of Ukraine into the Russian Federation."
"Ukrainian regions - Kherson, Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporizhzhia - remain part of Ukraine following international law," the ministry said in a statement.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Poland "has not recognized and does not recognize" either the results of pseudo-referenda or the announced "decrees of the Russian president regarding the annexation of these regions."
