Currently, 12 ships are heading into Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea, and 10 ships are exiting. Three more vessels have already left the ports.
This information was provided by Dmitry Pletenchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Navy, during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
"In our waters, the security of maritime transportation is ensured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using all available means and methods. After that, the ships enter the waters of Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey, which constitute the territorial seas of NATO countries. According to international law, this is the sovereign territory of member states of another Atlantic alliance, and the Russians are afraid to enter there. We are doing everything to ensure the safety of civilian navigation in our waters," Dmitry Pletenchuk noted.
According to him, the only radical solution to strengthen the protection of port infrastructure from the aggressor would be to bolster Ukraine's air force with F-16 type fighters or anti-aircraft defense systems.
