It is reported that the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has approved the concentration through the acquisition by LLC Cemin Ukraine of control over JSC United Mining and Chemical Company (UMCC) by directly purchasing shares in UMCC, which ensures more than 50% of the votes in the company’s highest governing body.
NEQSOL Holding's Regional Director in Ukraine, Volodymyr Lavrenchuk, stated that the AMCU’s decision marks the completion of a key stage in one of the largest privatizations during the full-scale war in Ukraine.
“As a strategic investor, we will bring global business expertise to UMCC to transform it into a modern global player in the titanium industry,” he added.
The holding plans to modernize the company, develop new products through deep raw material processing, and expand the presence of UMCC’s products on global markets while strictly complying with international sanctions.
NEQSOL Holding is an international group of companies operating in 11 countries. In Ukraine, it owns VF Ukraine (trading as Vodafone Ukraine), the country’s second-largest mobile operator. NEQSOL Holding was founded and is owned by Azerbaijani national Nasib Hasanov.
UMCC ranks among the world’s top ten producers of titanium and zirconium ores and is the largest in Europe.
