In 2024, Belgium plans to provide Ukraine with 611 million euros in military assistance and support the modernization of the Armed Forces. Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov discussed these plans over the phone with the head of the Belgian Defense Ministry, Ludivine Dedonder.

"We discussed recent events on the front and the prospects of defense cooperation between our countries," said Rustem Umerov.

Umerov expressed gratitude to his Belgian counterpart for Belgium's participation in the coalition of military air forces, particularly in the pilot training program.

"I highly appreciate the unwavering support of our Belgian partners. This year, Belgium plans to provide 611 million euros in military aid and has a long-term commitment to support the modernization of our Armed Forces," Umerov informed.

Dedonder did not comment on the conversation, but on her official social media page on X, she reposted a post from the official account of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine about these negotiations.

Belgium has repeatedly provided financial assistance to Ukraine. Last year, the country offered one of its largest aid packages, reinforcing military support to Ukraine.

Additionally, Belgium actively participates in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft.
