The UK has bought more than 120 grain containers for Ukraine.

British Minister of Transport Grant Shepps stated this during an online meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Ministry of Infrastructure said in a statement.

According to Grant Shepps, this assistance is provided as part of a £10 million support package for Ukrzaliznytsia, announced by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the last G7 summit.

“Because Ukraine is one of the largest grain exporters in the world, these vital measures will help its economy recover and ease the pressure on global food prices. In turn, this will support the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which allows the safe export of grain, food, and fertilizer from Ukraine through protected transport corridors."

It is also reported that the parties signed a common action plan regarding assistance in restoring the transport network of Ukraine.
