Bulgaria is ready to transfer around 100 units of Soviet-era armored vehicles to Ukraine. The transfer could begin by the end of September or the beginning of October.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Bulgaria, Todor Tagarev, during a joint briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksiy Reznikov in Odessa. He mentioned that Bulgaria has offered Ukraine about a hundred armored vehicles of Soviet design that are currently in storage.

However, the Bulgarian Minister emphasized that the agreement for the transfer of this armored technology still needs to be ratified by the Bulgarian Parliament.

"In September, as soon as the parliament resumes its sessions, I believe that this will be one of the priority tasks, and by the end of September to the beginning of October, we will have the ratification of this agreement. I think that's when the transfer can commence," the minister added.

According to the official, the process of supplying armored vehicles is being delayed because the designated armored technology intended for transfer to Ukraine is currently stored at the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior's facilities.

To initiate its transfer, the ministry must sign a relevant agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and submit the document for ratification to the Bulgarian parliament.

The joint assessment of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior indicates that the transfer of armored vehicles will not compromise Bulgaria's defense capabilities.
