Canada is sending four new armored medical evacuation vehicles out of the fifty planned for delivery to Ukraine.

This information was shared with a correspondent from Ukrinform by the Canadian Ministry of Defense.

"The first four of the fifty new armored combat support vehicles, built in Canada for transfer to Ukraine, are heading to Europe, where this summer, members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be trained to use them," the statement said.

It is noted that these armored personnel carriers are equipped with facilities "that will enable medical assistance for various injuries."

The Canadian Ministry of Defense promised that by autumn, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive ten of these modern medical armored vehicles, and over the next two years, an additional 40 of various types.

"These modern armored vehicles will perform many functions on the battlefield: transporting personnel, providing medical evacuation, and serving as mobile command posts," emphasized the Canadian Ministry of Defense.

Recall that the intention to transfer 50 modern armored vehicles of various types to Ukraine was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Ottawa in September last year. Canada is set to allocate around $500 million over three years for the purchase and equipping of this equipment.
