In the Czech Republic, some politicians believe that the situation in Ukraine requires a coordinated international response similar to the one Israel received during and after the Iranian drone and missile strikes, as reported by Euractiv.
Some Czech politicians believe that Ukraine, facing regular drone and missile attacks from Russia, should receive the same protection as Israel.
"The nocturnal attack by the ayatollah on Israel was successfully repelled thanks to a swift international response and readiness to defend airspace. It's a pity we don't defend the airspace over Ukraine with the same energy..." - noted Czech Minister of European Affairs Martin Dvorzhak from the STAN party.
Other politicians associated with the centrist STAN party supported the minister's sentiments.
"Ukraine deserves the same decisive defense that Israel rightfully received from its allies last night," commented Danushe Nerudova, the lead candidate from STAN in the European elections.
Czech MEP Marketa Gregorova also joined the call to strengthen Ukraine's defense.
"I strongly condemn Iran's attack on Israel... In light of yesterday's promise by Scholz to provide more Patriots to Ukraine, I believe the West will finally help build an air defense system that will also protect the Ukrainian civilian population," said Gregorova.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala emphasized the need to maintain US support for Ukraine.
"The support for Ukraine from the United States is absolutely necessary," Fiala said on Sunday before leaving for the United States to meet with President Joe Biden and members of Congress.
