Defence Forces: Russia redeploys airborne and assault units toward Southern Ukraine

Russian forces are redeploying units in the southern direction, in particular moving landing forces and replenishing personnel and equipment losses.

This was reported on air by the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

“According to our intelligence, several enemy units in the southern direction had been undergoing recovery, combat coordination, and replenishment of personnel and supplies, so now the adversary will primarily try to transfer assault/airborne units. They will move them toward the Kherson or Prydniprovsk directions; some units are also being shifted to the Orikhiv, Huliaipole and Oleksandrivsk directions,” Voloshyn said.

The spokesman noted that this is not a mass buildup of forces, but rotations and reinforcement of specific assault units.

“These are not so much forces and means that can significantly affect our combat operations — it is personnel from certain assault units,” Voloshyn explained.

He added that such movements are accompanied by attempts to restore the combat capability of units that suffered losses in previous engagements.
