At night, September 21 at 01:13, the occupying forces shelled the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. As a result of the shelling, the communication equipment of power unit No. 6 with the open switchgear of the ZNPP was damaged. As a result, the block transformer and transformers of the power unit's own needs were disconnected. This led to the loss of power to the sixth power unit. In order to prevent an accident, station employees started an emergency power supply system from two diesel generators of safety systems to ensure the operation of fuel cooling pumps.

At two o'clock in the morning, the station staff found an opportunity to establish power supply for power unit No. 6's own needs from the bus system of other power units of the station. Thanks to this, the diesel generators of the sixth power unit were turned off and put into standby mode.

The occupiers continue to threaten Europe and the whole world by committing acts of nuclear terrorism at Ukrainian nuclear power plants. These actions cannot be stopped even by the direct presence of IAEA inspectors on the territory of the ZNPP.
