Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba informed about the work on a trilateral project of Ukraine, Cambodia, and Japan aimed to facilitate the demining of our country. He said this on the air of the national telethon on Friday, November 11, during a live broadcast from the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia.
"Following the telephone conversations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, the Cambodian leader personally received me this week in Phnom Penh. At our meeting, we discussed, in particular, assistance in demining. We are developing a joint trilateral project on demining of Ukrainian territories with the involvement of Cambodia and Japan. We talked about the specific parameters of this project, who are the stakeholders, their contribution, and the schedule," he said.
Dmytro Kuleba added that he had discussed this project in detail at yesterday's meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn.
"Cambodia initiated this project at our request and stands ready to assist Ukraine in demining together with Japan. In the past, Cambodia had long suffered from war, and has considerable experience in demining. That is, we have the expertise, we have the equipment, we will invite them to solve our problems," the Minister concluded.
