Sanctions against Iran were introduced in record time, they come into force today.


The Council of the European Union approved the imposition of sanctions against Iran for supplying kamikaze drones to Russia for strikes on the territory of Ukraine.

This is stated in a message on the page of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union on Twitter.

It is noted that sanctions against Iran were introduced in record time.

"After 3 days of talks, EU ambassadors agreed on measures against entities supplying Iranian drones that hit Ukraine. Written procedure is over; sanctions come into force this afternoon on publication in the Off. Journal."

It is noted that the EU countries will freeze the assets of three individuals and one legal entity responsible for the supply of drones.

"The EU is also ready to extend sanctions to 4 more Iranian organizations that have already appeared in the preliminary sanctions list," the Czech representation added.
