FAO has launched a tender to support Ukrainian farmers with temporary storage solutions

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched an international tenders to procure grain storage facilities and address the current storage deficit in Ukraine, aiming to deploy storage capacity to farmers through 2022-2023. The tenders are open within the projects, financially supported by the Governments od Canada and Japan.

Jointly with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, FAO is working on the realization of a Grain Storage Support Strategy aiming at providing storage capacity for 4.07 million tonnes of grain, or approximately 25% of the estimated storage deficit.

FAO has commenced a large-scale procurement process for the technologies, targeting producers and vendors at the global, regional and national levels. The bulk of the proposed technology is expected to be delivered to the oblast level by early to mid-October, when the needs for storage of the crop harvest will begin to peak. The technologies to be procured under the tender include:

  • Grain sleeves, grain loaders and grain unloaders;
  • Modular storage units (granaries) with a tent cover with a capacity from 300 to 1000 tons (for wheat).

 In order to participate in this tender, vendors are invited to apply through the United Nations Global Market Place www.ungm.org by selecting the tender:

  • 2022-30 Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the procurement of Grain sleeves, grain loaders and grain unloaders for Ukraine.
  • 2022-31 Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the procurement of Modular warehouses with a tent cover with a capacity of up to 1000 tons (for wheat) for Ukraine.

The suppliers are required to be registered (https://www.ungm.org/Vendor/Registration). Detailed instructions on how to access FAO tender documents and submit the bid through UNGM can be downloaded from the UNGM Tender Management page.

The closing date and time for the submission is 5 August 2022 at 13:00 CEST (14:00 Kyiv time).

On 1 August 2022, FAO will hold an online meeting for the potential suppliers to present detailed information on submission requirements, respond to queries and review instructions for registration in UNGM system.
