Finland plans to build a test section of the border fence on the eastern border. Yle TV and radio company reports about this.
The government already has a consensus on the need for a trial part of the fence, but a decision has not yet been made.
According to Finnish mass media, the pilot project will be three kilometers long. About six million euros have been reserved for this in the budget.
The funds will also go to technical control and infrastructure.
According to Interior Minister Krista Mikkonen, it is important to consider the issue of building a border fence. The head of the Border Service, Lieutenant General Pasi Kostamovaara, also believes that the fence is necessary.
