Despite the declared overachievement of the defense order, Putin acknowledged the unsatisfactory condition of Russia’s military-industrial complex, as well as the shortage of UAVs, especially FPV drones, in the Russian army.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service.

The Russian President made this statement during a meeting of Russia’s military-industrial commission. According to him, there is still a shortage of unmanned systems at the front lines. Furthermore, modern communication, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare systems are also not fully meeting the needs of Russian forces.

Following the meeting, Putin ordered an acceleration of the development and production of technologically complex weapon systems, such as robotic platforms, combat lasers, and unmanned marine vessels, the implementation of artificial intelligence in combat, and the expansion of satellite technologies to manage troops in real time for conducting combat operations involving autonomous systems.

The measures announced by Putin confirm the Kremlin’s intention to compensate for the losses and shortage of traditional military equipment by intensively developing high-tech tools. The goal is to enhance the technologization of the war to be applied against Ukraine.
