Russian troops are ramping up their offensive operations in the Lyman and Pokrovske directions, with the number of combat clashes along the entire frontline rising to 84, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's report on July 5.

The report highlights ongoing Russian bombardments in the Kharkiv region, including five airstrikes from Belgorod and Shebekino using nine GAB bombs.

"Two enemy assaults near Hlyboke in the Kharkiv direction were repelled without losing positions. Two other skirmishes continue in that area. In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to storm our positions near Synkivka twice," the report states.

The Russian army also launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Lyman direction near Nevske, Makiivka, Hrekivka, Terny, and the Serebriansky forest, with six clashes still ongoing.

"The Russian forces are most active near Terny, accounting for over a third of all combat clashes," the command notes.

Russian forces are also probing for "weak spots" in the Ukrainian defense in the Siversk direction, with ongoing fighting near Spirne being described as controlled by the General Staff.

Additionally, there were three Russian assaults in the Kramatorsk direction and nine in the Toretsk direction, with ongoing battles at three locations.

"In the Pokrovske direction, the highest number of clashes occurred. Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 29 attempts to dislodge our defenders from positions in the areas of Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka, and Netailove. Nearly half of the attacks were near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The enemy supported their actions with three airstrikes. The Defense Forces have repelled 17 enemy assaults, with 12 battles still ongoing," the military reports.
