Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue defensive operations in several challenging sectors of the front, including Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Kupiansk, while Russia’s claims of having “captured” these settlements do not correspond to reality, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

According to the statement, Ukrainian units maintain positions in all three areas despite intensified Russian attempts to advance. The General Staff said that Moscow’s triumphant declarations are merely another attempt to use staged “flag-raising” videos for propaganda purposes aimed at influencing participants in international negotiations.

In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces are holding the northern part of the city along the railway line. Search-and-assault operations are ongoing to eliminate remaining Russian groups, and Russian forces are suffering significant losses. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian troops neutralized 104 Russian fighters in the Pokrovsk sector. The General Staff added that the group which raised the Russian flag under cover of fog has already been cleared.

Defense Forces are also organizing additional logistical routes in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas to ensure stable supply to frontline positions.

In Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, the situation remains tense. Russia continues attempts to push forward using small infantry groups, attack drones, and artillery, but Ukrainian defenders are holding their lines.

The General Staff stressed that Russian “flag-raising missions” are purely demonstrative and ultimately end the same way: the participating Russian units are destroyed by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
