Germany will provide an additional $200 million through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative to purchase American weapons for Ukraine and will also allocate an additional €25 million to the Comprehensive Assistance Package under the NATO Trust Fund, the German Foreign Ministry reported.

“Germany will provide an additional $200 million in weapons for Ukraine in two packages through the PURL mechanism. We will also contribute an additional €25 million to the NATO Targeted Fund for the Comprehensive Assistance Package, ensuring Ukrainian soldiers have the necessary winter gear and proper medical support, especially now, during ice and snow on the frontlines,” said German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul ahead of a NATO foreign ministers meeting.

The foreign minister emphasized that Vladimir Putin started the war in Ukraine and can end it at any time.

“He has yet to show any real readiness for negotiations. Therefore, we will continue to pressure Russia and, as a NATO partner, intend to increase this pressure even further,” Wadephul said.
