The Hungarian side does not prevent the launch of a training mission for Ukrainian fighters, the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said.

The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjarto, said that he did not vote to create an EU training mission for the Ukrainian military.

The Hungarian side used the option of a constructive stay - it does not prevent the launch of such a mission, but does not take part in it, the official said after a meeting of the heads of the EU foreign ministries, Blikk reports.

Szijjarto noted that Hungary will not spend money on a training mission for the defenders of Ukraine and will not accommodate its participants.

"Hungary also did not vote for this proposal, we used the option of a constructive stay, that is, we do not prevent the launch of such a mission, but do not take part in it …", the minister explained.

According to him, because of the training mission, there is a risk of drawing Europe into the war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
