Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held an online meeting with Dan Costello, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada on foreign and defense policy.Â
Ihor Zhovkva expressed gratitude for the strong support that friendly Canada traditionally provides to Ukraine, noting the important role of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in this.
He briefed Dan Costello on the current security situation, including the threatening events surrounding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the need to increase arms assistance to our country in order to successfully carry out a further counteroffensive.
The Advisor to the Prime Minister confirmed that the Canadian side is willing to continue providing comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, as well as to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia.
Ihor Zhovkva informed the interlocutor about unblocking the export of grain from Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea, which should strengthen world food security, which was under threat due to Russian aggression. He thanked for Canada's help in providing Ukraine with elevators.
During the meeting, the holding of the summit of the Crimea Platform on August 23 was also discussed.
